The Kuster Company Heat Shield Assembly - High Temperature (Part Number 18500-340) when combined with the Kuster Company K10 Strain ¾" Electronic Memory Gauge (18600-300) provides an unbeatable combination of versatility and durability.
As an assembly, it is a wireline conveyed, electronic memory recorder, designed for the severest of well bore conditions. The K10 Strain ¾" tool is mounted on top of the gauge bulkhead and nested in a pressure housing within the thermal flask. Well bore pressure is applied to the pressure transducer via a capillary tube, isolating the temperature limited electronics from extreme well bore temperatures. The entire assembly features wetted components made of materials in accordance with NACE MR0175 with a pressure collapse rating of 20,000PSI sealed with a metal C-ring backed up with a set of two O-rings. Following the well survey, the flask is removed, and the EMR is dumped in a normal fashion. The assembly requires no maintenance except for the changing of O-rings and the assembly is simple enough that it can be done easily in the field.
Separately, the K10 Strain ¾" is wireline or coiled tubing conveyed, electronic memory recorder, taking pressure and temperature readings in wellbores with temperatures up to 150°C (302°F).
Kuster Company standard heat shield specifications are listed in the table below, however special configurations are available on an order-by-order basis.
